A Place Where Stillness
Meets the Sea
Ganesha Villa Meno is a two-bedroom villa set in a tropical garden on Gili Meno, the smallest and quietest of the three Gili Islands.
Both bedrooms are king-size and sit a few steps up from the living area. They open one into the next: you reach the first through the shared bathroom, and the second through the first. It's a relaxed, family-style layout that works for families, close friends, or a couple travelling together. It's not really the place for two couples who each want a private room.
The kitchen is fully equipped. A covered terrace looks out over a big private garden, with mature trees, hand-carved furniture, and a Ganesha statue keeping watch. Meno's small market is a hundred metres away, and the beach is 300 metres from the gate.
No cars, no motorbikes on the island. It stays genuinely quiet here.

The name behind the villa
Named for the one who clears the way
Ganesha is the Hindu god who removes obstacles, and a sign of wisdom, fresh starts and a little good luck. It felt right for a calm, easy-going place where a few slow days can feel like a clean slate. You'll find his statue keeping watch over the garden and the villa.

Getting There
From Lombok: fly into Lombok airport and take a taxi to Bangsal harbour (about 1.5 to 2 hours). From there it's a short boat over to Gili Meno, 10 to 20 minutes, on a public, island-hopping or private boat.
From Bali: fast boats run from Padang Bai, Serangan or Sanur, either direct or via Gili Trawangan, in roughly 1.5 to 3 hours. We're glad to help you book a private speedboat or a reliable fast boat.
Beyond the gate
Clear water, close reefs, and not a car in sight.
Underwater statues
Snorkel out to the famous submerged ring of figures (the “Nest”), just offshore.
Turtles & sanctuary
Green turtles cruise the reef, and a little sanctuary helps the hatchlings along.
Snorkeling
Coral and marine life straight off the beach, or by boat around the three Gilis.
The island walk
Loop the whole island in about 90 minutes of quiet beaches and wide-open views.
Sunrise & sunset
Sunrise over Lombok’s mountains; sunset toward Bali and Gili Trawangan.
Island hopping
Quick boats to livelier Gili Air and Gili Trawangan for a day out.
Cycle or horse cart
No cars or motorbikes here. Get around on foot, by bicycle, or by cidomo (the local horse cart).
Your first 24 hours
What a quiet arrival looks like
From the boat to your first morning, in broad strokes.
- Late afternoon
We meet you off the boat
Someone from the villa is waiting at the harbour. It’s a two-hundred-metre walk through sandy lanes, and a horse cart can take your bags if you’d rather not carry them. Check-in is handled right there when you arrive.
- Before sunset
Four minutes to the beach
Sandy lanes, no traffic, and the sea 300 metres from the gate. Sunset comes fast here, so don’t dawdle.
- After dark
Dinner at a warung on the path
Gado-gado, fresh sambal, a cold Bintang. Try Sasak Cafe for local food and live music by the water, then walk home under the trees. With no cars anywhere on the island, the quiet is the real thing.

Frequently asked
There are two easy ways in. From Lombok, fly into Lombok airport, take a taxi to Bangsal harbour (about 1.5 to 2 hours), then a short boat over to Gili Meno (10 to 20 minutes) on a public, island-hopping or private boat. From Bali, fast boats run from Padang Bai, Serangan and Sanur, either direct or via Gili Trawangan, and take roughly 1.5 to 3 hours depending on the sea. For the easiest trip we usually suggest a private speedboat or a good fast boat. The public boat from Bangsal is the cheapest option.
Our staff meet you at the harbour and walk you the short 200 metres to the villa. If you’d rather not carry your bags, they can arrange a horse cart (cidomo). They’ll check you in when you arrive, so there’s nothing to sort out beforehand.
Yes. It’s about a four-minute walk along quiet sandy lanes.
The sleeping area is a few steps up from the living room. You reach the first bedroom through the shared bathroom, and the second through the first. One indoor bathroom (shower, washbasin and toilet) serves both. It works well for families and friends travelling together. If you need two separate bathrooms, this isn’t the right villa for you.
Yes to both. There’s air conditioning in the two bedrooms and the living room, plus ceiling fans in the living area and kitchen. The Wi-Fi is fast and reliable, more than enough for working online.
Of course. The kitchen has everything you’ll need: a fridge-freezer, a big gas stove, a kettle, a rice cooker, a toaster, and all the pots, pans, utensils and tableware. Drinking water is provided, as the tap water on the island isn’t for drinking. There’s a small market about 100 metres away for fruit, vegetables and local food.
Breakfast for up to four guests is included. We’re also happy to cook other meals on request and to stock the kitchen with groceries before you arrive; both are charged extra. Just let us know.
A few things. Bath towels, linens and a hairdryer are provided, but toiletries aren’t, so bring your own soap and shampoo. Beach towels aren’t provided either. There are no mosquito nets or screens on the windows, so pack repellent for the evenings. And if you’re travelling with a baby, bring a travel cot, as we don’t have a cot or high chair at the villa.
We only take direct bookings, by WhatsApp, email or the form on this page, with payment by bank transfer, PayPal or Wise in full at the time of booking. If you cancel, you get 90% back up to 30 days before arrival, 50% from 29 to 15 days before, and no refund within 15 days.
A few notes for the island
- Shoes off before you come inside.
- Reef-safe sunscreen, please. The coral sits close to shore.
- Don't touch or stand on the coral, and give the turtles space.
- Please don't leave any rubbish on the beaches or in the sea.
- You'll hear the call to prayer from the village mosque; light sleepers may want earplugs.
- Electricity on the island is reliable, but there's no backup generator, so the rare power cut is part of island life.
